Flood waters rising in Ba Town while water levels are receding in Rakiraki Town

The main Street in Ba Town is now flooded and water has also entered a few shops.

Ba Town-based, Island Pharmacy staff, Indira Gosai says the market and taxi stand areas are also flooded.

A resident of Varadoli in Ba, Nitin Ram says the Cemetery Road Bridge is under about 4 feet of water.

He says it has been raining heavily since this morning and water levels are rising.

Flood waters have almost reached the Namosau Bridge near Xavier College.

Rakiraki businessman, Robert Narayan says flood waters are receding in the town.

He says Naqoro flats, Qalau Road and the Nakauvadra River remain flooded.

Tavua businessman, Sunil Shankar says the area in front of Shop ‘n’ Save in Tavua Town, Nabuna Road, Mataniwai, Yaladro and Dramasi remain flooded.

Sharma says the Tavua and Nasivi rivers are also flooded.
