WOWS Kids Fiji General Manager Moira Vilsoni is calling on the public to visit their booth at Fiji Showcase to learn more about childhood cancer and support a cause that is making a difference in the lives of children across Fiji.
Currently, the organisation is supporting 63 children living with cancer.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Vilsoni says the event is helping the organisation raise awareness about childhood cancer among a wider audience while also encouraging people to support children and families affected by the disease.
She says Fiji Showcase provides an opportunity to connect with thousands of visitors and share the important work being carried out by WOWS Kids Fiji.
Vilsoni says the organisation is currently supporting 63 children diagnosed with cancer across the Central, Western and Northern divisions.
She adds that all proceeds from the sale of merchandise, including T-shirts, wristbands and other items at Fiji Showcase, go directly towards supporting children through medical treatment, transportation, counselling services, care packs and family visitations.
Vilsoni says WOWS Kids Fiji also assists with specialised medical tests when they are not available through public hospitals and works closely with paediatric oncology teams at CWM Hospital, Lautoka Hospital and Labasa Hospital to ensure children continue receiving the care they need.
She says support from the public has been encouraging, with many individuals and families visiting the booth to donate, purchase merchandise and learn more about childhood cancer.
Vilsoni acknowledged the support of donors, volunteers, the CFL Foundation and Total Events Company for helping WOWS Kids Fiji continue its work in supporting children and families affected by cancer.
