Political party leaders are running around after hearing my bloodshed statement – Bainimarama

PM is shooting himself in the foot – Duru

FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama and SODELPA General Secretary, Lenaitasi Duru

FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama says political party leaders such as Mahendra Chaudhry and Professor Biman Prasad are running around after hearing Bainimarama’s bloodshed statement.

While speaking in the iTaukei language at the FijiFirst rally in Rakiraki, Bainimarama says now, Mick Beddoes has filed a formal complaint against him to the Fijian Elections Office to take legal action.

Bainimarama says they are only saying these things to secure votes and don’t even care about the consequences.

He says that some of the other parties are connected to some rich people who can just hop on a plane and flee the country should anything happen.

Bainimarama claims that one of the SODELPA candidate was saying that if SODELPA wins the 2022 general election, they will return the freehold titles.

Bainimarama says that it is going to be impossible.

He adds when he came into government back in 2007, he received a lot of calls from various chiefs asking him to return the freehold land.

The FijiFirst Leader says he had responded that if the late former Prime Minister, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara cannot return the freehold land, it cannot be returned.

Bainimarama says that there are a few reasons as to why the freehold land cannot be returned

He adds even though it is within the law, some people can still break the law.

Bainimarama adds that iTaukei land boundary is overlapped which can create arguments that can end up with landowners sharpening their knives.

He says this is why he mentioned that there can be bloodshed while speaking at their rally at Syria Park, Nausori.

While responding to this, SODELPA General Secretary, Lenaitasi Duru says none of their candidates are spreading information that a SODELPA government will return all freehold land.
