Fiji is set to host the prestigious Miss Pacific Islands Pageant, marking a significant moment for the country and its celebration of Pacific women.

As a result, there will also be a Miss Fiji Pageant, where the winner of Miss Hibiscus 2025 will go on to represent the vibrant City of Suva.

The announcement was made by Ana Tuiketei, the 2026 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Director and Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Board Director, during the Hibiscus Festival 2025 at the Suva Foreshore last night.

Tuiketei says Fiji has a proud history of strong representation in the regional pageant, with three Miss Fiji winners having gone on to claim the Miss South Pacific title.

She says in 2009, when Fiji last hosted the pageant, Mere Nailatikau was crowned Miss South Pacific.

She is now a Principal Consultant at Talanoa Consulting.

In 2011, Alisi Rabukawaqa took the title.

She is currently an Ocean Advocate and Environmental Consultant.

And the third titleholder is Anne Dunn, a lawyer and digital safety specialist.

Tuiketei says these three remarkable women have gone on to become leaders in their fields, highlighting the pageant’s role in empowering women and showcasing Pacific talent on the global stage.

Today is the final day of the Hibiscus Festival 2025 with the float parade starting at 1pm.

The announcement of the best float will be held at 3pm, followed by entertainment from Malumu ni Tobu kei Naivaukura and Leba Boi Yawa E Lomai Nasau from 4pm to 6pm.

From 6pm to 7.30pm, the Queens will take centre stage where they will be answering why they should be the next Miss Hibiscus.

The crowning of the new Queen will be from 8pm to 8.30pm. Ciwa Music will entertain the crowd on the main stage from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
