All schools currently being used as evacuation centres in the western division are expected to re-open today as weather conditions continue to improve.

This was confirmed by Minister of Education Aseri Radrodro, who visited Nadi Muslim College to distribute relief supplies to families and school children currently sheltering at the evacuation centre following the recent adverse weather.

During the visit, Radrodro met with evacuees and handed over Non-Food Items to support families during their temporary stay at the centre.

The relief items included school bags, stationery, wash kits, sanitary pads, toilet paper, cleaning tissues, hand soap, washing soap, buckets, and bins.

Radrodro says the assistance is aimed at helping families cope during this difficult period while ensuring that school children have the necessary supplies for their daily needs.

The Minister also acknowledges the school management, teachers and members of the community for their cooperation and support in accommodating evacuees and ensuring the wellbeing of families during the emergency period.
