40-year-old Domoniko Tabau who is charged in relation to the incident that occurred at the Laqere checkpoint last month has been remanded in custody.
Tabau appeared before Nasinu Magistrate Vinti Prasad this afternoon.
The prosecution objected to Tabau's bail application and the case has been transferred to the Suva High Court.
The case will be called again this Friday.
Tabau is charged with one count each of attempted murder, serious assault, and going equipped for theft or a property offence.
Police had said Tabau is one of the three men who were in a vehicle that drove directly into a roadblock manned by a police officer in Laqere.
Tabau was discharged from the CWM Hospital on Friday, May 1st, while the other two suspects remain admitted.
The victim, who is the daughter of Minister for Defence, Pio Tikoduadua, remains admitted in critical condition.
