An ammunition find in Nasinu has now been linked to a military training exercise, while investigations are continuing into two separate cases involving ammunition and a suspected gun in Nabua.
Police have confirmed that the ammunition reported in Nasinu on 21st April was blank ammunition used by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces during a training exercise on the same day.
They say the blanks posed no threat to public safety and have since been handed back to the RFMF.
In a separate case, investigations are continuing after a student found 13 rounds of ammunition at the Nabua Topline Bus Stop.
Police say further inspection is needed to determine whether the rounds are authentic, functional, and where they originated from.
Meanwhile, in another Nabua investigation, a vehicle owner who was questioned over reports of a gun sighting told Police that his son was holding a toy gun at the time.
The toy was inspected by the Force Armourer and was confirmed to be similar to a ball-bearing gun, or BB gun.
Police are now trying to determine the source of the BB gun.
