Discipline and defence will be key in Vancouver - Kolinisau

Discipline and defence will be key in Vancouver - Kolinisau

Discipline and strong defence will be crucial for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team as they prepare for the Vancouver tournament tomorrow.

Head coach Osea Kolinisau shared this with fijivillage News while speaking from Vancouver.

He says players have been constantly reminded about the challenge ahead and the importance of maintaining the high standard Fiji rugby is known for.

Kolinisau says the players sometimes get tired of hearing the same reminders about discipline, noting that as Fijians, they can occasionally take things too lightly.

He adds that when Fiji is leading in a match, players sometimes become too relaxed and lose their mental focus, allowing opposing teams an opportunity to fight their way back into the game.

Kolinisau stressed that this cannot happen in Vancouver, as every team will be eager to end their season strongly and secure valuable points.

Fiji’s first pool match is against France at 7.19am tomorrow, followed by Argentina at 11.07am

They will face Australia in their final pool match at 2.56pm.

The Men’s Cup semi-finals will be held at 8.33am on Monday, with the Cup final at 1.34pm.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana team will face Australia in their first match at 9.31am tomorrow, before meeting the USA at 12.57pm and Canada at 4.46pm in their final pool match.

The Women's semi-final will be held at 9.39 am on Monday and the final at 2.05pm.
