Ratu Meli Buarua, who is charged alongside Zoe Maharaj Moore for alleged possession of drugs and property suspected to be proceeds of crime, remains missing after failing to appear in court, with a bench warrant still in effect for his arrest.
Moore appeared in court this morning, however, Ratu Meli was missing.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Yogesh Prasad demanded that the investigating officer be present in court to provide further details.
Moore and Ratu Meli are jointly charged with unlawful possession of 0.3 grams of marijuana in Suva on 6th March, last year.
Ratu Meli also faces a separate charge of possessing $1,904.50 suspected to be proceeds of crime, allegedly found in his possession in Suva on 5 March 2025.
Moore has pleaded not guilty to the charges while Ratu Meli pleaded guilty.
Moore has been remanded in this matter, however, she remains in remand for the case where she was allegedly found with a grenade and 0.111 grams of methamphetamine.
Meanwhile, she has been acquitted for allegedly possessing 0.0083 grams of methamphetamine on July 20, 2020.
