Bail pending appeal hearing for Lateef adjourned to June 19th
The bail pending appeal hearing for former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef has been adjourned to the 19th of June.

A bail pending appeal hearing is held when a convicted person applies to be released while waiting for the outcome of an appeal against their conviction or sentence.

Lateef was sentenced to three years and eight months imprisonment after being convicted of unlawful possession of 9.5 grams of methamphetamine and 3.5 grams of marijuana on May 9, 2019.

The matter was scheduled to be heard today, however, the defence requested more time.
