2 remanded for serious assault and property damage in Wailoku

Two men have been charged in relation to a case of serious assault and damaging property in Suva over the weekend have appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court.

Veleki Totogo and Tomasi Qalibau have been remanded in custody.

Police says the two accused, aged 23 and 24, are residents of Waimanu Road and Mead Road.

Both 

They were arrested with three other men in relation to the incident.

They have each been charged with one count of criminal intimidation, one count of aggravated burglary, one count of damaging property, and one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

They are expected to reappear in court on 5th of next month.

Police confirm that the other three men are still being questioned as investigations into the matter continue.

Two of the five men were arrested over the weekend after police raided Jone Vakarisi's home at Waimanu Road, while the third suspect was apprehended later.
