Generators to be running in 6 months

The Water Authority of Fiji has revealed that backup generators to see that water supply is not affected when there is a power shutdown, is expected to be up and running in about six months time.

This follows water disruptions due to a power blackout last week which saw the three pumps at the Savura pumping stations fail.

Team manager corporate communications Michelle Tevita Singh said while a lot of promises have been made in the past regarding the obtaining of generators, this time around they are sure of having the generators in the country by the end of the year.
