People are now being urged to take all the necessary precautions as the worst effects from Tropical Cyclone Evan is expected from this hour.
A hurricane warning remains in force for the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups however people living in Viti Levu also need to be prepared later this afternoon.
Permanent secretary for Information Sharon Smith-Johns said DISMAC advises people to act now.
Smith-Johns said people living in the Central Division also need to take necessary precautions.
People also need to be prepared for river and sea flooding.
