Heavy rain alert in force for Fiji
A heavy rain alert is in force for Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure currently affects Fiji, while another active trough of low pressure is expected to affect the country from tomorrow.

They say occasional rain, heavy at times, and a few thunderstorms will develop from tomorrow.

Possible impacts of this system include flash flooding in flood-prone low-lying informal settlements and communities, businesses and low water crossings, leading to traffic disruptions. Other impacts include surface flooding on streets in urban areas with poor drainage, wet roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, which will increase the risk of road accidents.
