All drivers are to have both their hands firmly on the steering wheel while driving unless changing gears or carrying out any other control in the vehicle.
Land Transport Authority acting spokesperson Alfred Wiliame said Regulation 45 of the Land Transport Traffic Regulation 2000 states this and drivers should act accordingly.
Wiliame said every week around 10 drivers are booked for talking on mobile phones while driving which is clearly breeching the law.
He added if any driver feels they have not breeched any law and have been booked, they get the opportunity to prove themselves correct when proper proceedings take place.
