It will be a Christmas with a difference for twenty seven women of Lami village after they kick started their own small business.
This became possible after receiving financial assistance from South Pacific Business Development Microfinance Limited which officially opened its door in Fiji today.
The South Pacific Business Development Microfinance Limited or the SPBD has six centers in the Central Division which provides small, unsecured loans to groups of rural women who invest their loans into businesses.
The Chief of Lami Center One, Reijeli Bale said their lives have changed compared to last year adding they are depending less on their husbands.
Meanwhile, the founder of the Microfinance Limited Greg Cassgrande told Fijivillage that they aim to improve the quality of life of people living in poverty in the poor island nations of the South Pacific.
The South Pacific Business Development Microfinance Limited which started its operation two months ago currently has 500 clients.
