Serevi to coach Fijian Drua for upcoming Coral Coast 7s

Fiji 7s legend and maestro Waisale Serevi will be coaching the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua 7s side that will take part in the upcoming McDonalds Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s that kicks off this Thursday.

While speaking on his selection as coach, Serevi thanked Coach Glen Jackson and the coaching staff for giving him this opportunity to coach a Fijian team again after 16 years.

He says to be given the opportunity to coach the Fijian Drua at the Coral Coast 7s this year, is an honour and privilege for him.

Fijian Drua Head Coach Glen Jackson says they are very honoured and privileged to be able to play in this tournament knowing it’s an amazing 7s series that is creating a lot of excitement around it.

Jackson says they have a very good team, so they’re excited to be part of it.

The Fijian Drua also announced a strong squad that will be captained by Drua and Fiji Water Flying Fijians hooker Mesulame Dolokoto.

The squad will have the services of a number of stars, including Olympic Games Silver Medalist Ponipate Loganimasi alongside Tuidraki Samusamuvodre, Peni Matawalu, Ilaisa Droasese and Taniela Rakuro.

The Fijian Drua 7s squad for the Coral Coast 7s include Mesulame Dolokoto (c), Tuidraki Samusamuvodre, Isoa Tuwai, Isikeli Basiyalo, Ilaisa Droasese, Maika Tuitubou, Jack Volavola, Aisea Tuisese, Peni Matawalu, Ponipate Loganimasi, Taniela Rakuro, Isikeli Rabitu, Kalioni Ratunabuabua and Simeli Tuiteci.

The Coral Coast 7s will be held from this Thursday to Saturday in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.
