A powerful Fiji Under 23 soccer team has been named for this afternoon’s last pool match of the OFC Olympic qualifiers against Vanuatu.
Fiji will play a relatively different formation this afternoon with three defenders, five mid-fielders and two strikers.
Akuila Mataisuva, Peniame Drova, Archie Watkins, Kavaia Rawaqa, Ilimotama Jese, Easava Naqeleca, Jone Salauneune and Misaele Draunibaka are some renowned names in the Fiji lineup.
Speaking from New Zealand, National soccer team Director, Tarunesh reddy said his players are raring to take the field.
The Fiji and Vanuatu match kicks off 4pm today in Taupo, New Zealand.
Fiji has already qualified for the semi-finals and the match against Vanuatu will decide Fiji’s semi-finalist opponent.
A win in the OFC Olympic qualifiers final will give Fiji the chance to play in the London Olympics in June.
