Switzerland forward Breel Embolo has been cleared to travel to the United States after his Esta authorisation was approved, allowing him to join his teammates ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Embolo had been unable to travel with the squad earlier this week after his application was placed under review due to a Swiss court ruling linked to a 2018 altercation in Basel.
The Switzerland Football Federation confirmed that the 29-year-old is expected to join the team on Friday.
Embolo was convicted in 2023 of making multiple threats and received a suspended fine. He later chose not to appeal the ruling further, making the judgement final.
Embolo has scored 23 goals in 85 appearances for Switzerland and played at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Switzerland will begin its FIFA World Cup campaign against Qatar on June 14th before facing Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 19th and Canada on June 25th.
Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup will kick off next Friday and will run until July 20th.
