The Challengers Group matches of the OFC Pro League get under way today, with Tahiti United looking to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Head Coach Samuel Garcia says the competition has been a big challenge, but also a great opportunity for the team, especially for young players stepping into their roles.
Garcia says he is looking forward to seeing further progress from the side in the coming matches.
He also thanked those who made their participation possible, saying they were promised a revolution in Oceanian football and have seen that through this competition.
The team showed good form earlier in the tournament, but will now need to deliver another strong performance today.
Tahiti United face Solomon Kings FC at 3pm at Eden Park, while Vanuatu United will face PNG Hekari FC at 7pm.
Tahiti United will then play PNG Hekari FC on Sunday before taking on Vanuatu United next Wednesday. Both matches will be held at the GO Media Stadium.
The winner of the Challengers Group will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held on 20th May at GO Media Stadium, while the final will be played on 24th May at Eden Park.
The OFC Pro League will also determine who represents Oceania at the annual FIFA Intercontinental Cup™ and the quadrennial FIFA Club World Cup™.
