“We are trying our best to find shelter”.

Those were the words of Tevita Brown, who was amongst the 21 families that was evicted from Veiraisi Settlement in Nadera two weeks ago.

Speaking to fijivillage, Brown says they have managed to move their belongings to one of the landowners in Wailoku where they spent the night before they look for a place to stay tonight.

While sharing what they have been going through over the last two weeks, the emotional father of two says his friends and families managed to assist them with some finance but his children missed school in the past two weeks.

Brown says that most of the families from Veiraisi have moved their belongings after they were given the directive to remove their belongings or they will be charged with trespassing.
