The Vunivalu, Turaga Na Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua

The Vunivalu, Turaga Na Tui Namosi Ratu Suliano Matanitobua has reiterated his stand during the Namosi Provincial Council Meeting, stating that there will be no mining in Namosi until the entire Mining Act is reviewed.

Ratu Suliano says his priority is the welfare of his people, and any discussions that take place must be transparent and involve the Vanua, the company, and the government.

He also states that the landowners should clearly express what they want, and the company must highlight both the positive and negative impacts that mining may bring to the community.

He adds that the government should not be the only one benefitting from Namosi’s land while disregarding the interests of his people.

The Tui Namosi says he will continue to support and stand with his people and what they decide.
