Defending Skipper Cup Senior Men’s champion Suva will take on Nadroga in the Skipper Cup grand final next week after both teams secured wins in their respective semi final matches this afternoon at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Suva defeated a 14-men Nadi side 38-16 in the first semi final.

Suva capitalised on Nadi’s mistakes and turned them into points as Nadi had to play with 13 men at one stage in the first half following a red card and a yellow card.

The Capital City side led 17-6 at halftime. In the second semi final, Nadroga fought hard to secure a 21-17 win over Naitasiri.

It was their defence in the dying stages of the match that helped them escape with the close win as Naitasiri tried to steal a last-minute victory.

Nadroga put their bodies on the line and it paid off for them.

Suva will take on Nadroga at 3pm next Saturday with the venue to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, in the under-20s Men’s semi finals, Naitasiri defeated Suva 22-13 and Nadroga edged Nadi 34-32. Naitasiri will take on Nadroga in the Under 20s final.
