The Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chaplaincy Office conducted an outreach visit to former RFMF personnel Lieutenant Nemani Valeniyasana and Private Ilisoni Rokovada in a bid to reconcile and restore good relationships between the RFMF and the two personnel.

Lieutenant Valeniyasana and Private Rokovada both took part in the takeover of Sukanaivalu VC Barracks in Labasa in 2000.

The RFMF Chaplaincy Office was led by the RFMF Chaplain Major Reverend Viliame Tunidau.

The visit was filled with moments of emotion when Major Reverend Tunidau and his team interacted with the families of the two personnel, underscoring the RFMF’s commitment to fostering reconciliation and restoration.

The outreach team is currently advancing into the second phase of the reconciliation and restoration program which is focused on healing and rebuilding trust within the community by addressing past grievances and promoting unity.
