Naitasiri came from behind to clinch a 16-14 win over the defending Skipper Cup champions Nadi in their round 2 clash at Prince Charles Park.

It was a sweet victory for Naitasiri as they avenged their loss to Nadi in the Skipper Cup final last year with the same scoreline as Etonia Rokotuisawa was the hero for Naitasiri scoring 11 points through his kicking boots.

Nadi started the game well taking an early 6-0 lead with two penalty kicks at goal from Rafaele Tunidau before Rokotuisawa grabbed a penalty for Naitasiri to narrow the deficit to 6-3.

Tomasi Naiduki scored the first try for Naitasiri and got it converted by Rokotuisawa to claim a 10-6 lead before Nadi’s Simione Nawai scored a try to reclaim a 14-10 lead heading into halftime.

Rokotuisawa scored 6 points after kicking two more penalties in the second spell to claim the win for the Highlanders.

In other Skipper Cup matches played today, Tailevu overcame Macuata 25-20 while Nadroga beat Namosi 26-10.
