Mikkelson ruled out, Rush to join NZ 7s squad in Hong Kong

All Blacks 7s veteran Tim Mikkelson has been ruled out of the Hong Kong 7s after sustaining a minor injury in their final training session.

Mikkelson was dubbed to play in his 99th World Sevens Series tournament.

He will be replaced by Brady Rush who will join the squad in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Fiji’s first match is against Japan at 8.37pm Friday, then they will meet Spain at 4.15pm Saturday in their second match and play the USA at 8pm Saturday in their final pool game.

The cup quarter-finals will start at 3.25pm Sunday, the cup semifinals will begin at 7.45pm Sunday and the final will start at 11pm Sunday.
