Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad

Truth, justice, righteousness, honesty and integrity are eternal, inspirational and unifying principles of Lord Ram that teach us to always put national interest above anything else.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad stressed this while giving his message on the occasion of Ram Naumi celebrations.

Professor Prasad says the road to achieving success for the betterment and common good of the people is an invaluable lesson that formed the basis of Lord Ram’s life.

He further says our forefathers, brought to Fiji as indentured labourers or the Girmitiya, religiously observed Ram Naumi and drew inspiration and courage from his life to overcome the brutal challenges confronting them.

He says Lord Ram has shown that irrespective of the perilous nature of the journey, success can only be achieved through honesty, dedication, hard work, and being committed at all times to the greater good of everyone.

Professor Prasad adds that the teachings should be part of our daily lives.

He has extended his wishes to the Hindu brothers and sisters across the country, that may this Ram Naumi bring peace, strength, and prosperity into our lives.

Ram Navami concludes at midday today.
