Investigations are underway into the fire at the Lautoka Hospital early this morning.

The National Fire Authority has confirmed that they are yet to determine the cause of the fire.

Lautoka Police received a report of a fire at the Lautoka Hospital Operation Theatre and X-Ray room at 1.30 this morning.

The fire was contained at around 3 this morning and all patients at the Lautoka Hospital were evacuated to the carpark area with the help of firefighters, Police and the RFMF.

Residents living near the hospital were also seen helping nurses and doctors evacuate the patients.

Three departments at the Lautoka Hospital have been temporarily closed until further notice after a fire at the hospital early this morning.

Police confirm that the special outpatients' services, x-ray services and general services are temporarily closed.

No one received any injuries during the incident.

Police say they will await the findings of the NFA report.

People are requested to utilise the services of their nearest health centre until services at the Lautoka Hospital normalise.

Police say visitations to patients will also be limited to essential needs and will be strictly monitored for now.
