The Waratahs Women’s team put the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua side to the sword beating them 62-21 in their round 2 match of the Super Rugby Women.

Basic mistakes cost the Drua side heavily with numerous dropped balls and knock ons.

The Tahs put 10 tries on the Drua with the first to Desiree Miller in the 2nd minute giving them a 7-0 lead.

Kaitlan Leaney, Maya Stewart and Bridie O'Gorman extended that lead to 19-0.

The Drua finally got on the board after winger Adita Milinia and hooker Vika Matarugu scored converted tries to get them within reach at 14-19.

The Waratahs quickly replied with a try to quickly pull them away again to 24-14 heading into half time.

In the second half the Tahs forwards bulldozed through the Drua defence to score a converted try 31-14.

Merewai Tabu intercepted a Waratahs pass to run through untouched to score a try for the Drua making it 21-31.

The Tahs pulled away again with a try in the 54th, 68th and 72nd minute to extend it to 55-21.

The Tahs put the final nail on the coffin at full-time to make it 62-21.

There will be another double header next week as our Fijian Drua teams host the Western Force with the Men’s team playing first at 1.05pm and the Women at 3.35pm.
