Permanent Secretary of Education Selina Kuruleca

It is extremely important that we start planning for our children’s future while they are still young.

Those were the words of the Permanent Secretary of Education Selina Kuruleca when asked by fijivillage News on the presence of primary school students at the 2023 Higher Education Commission Careers Expo at the Vodafone Arena.

Kuruleca says having primary school students at the event is part of the direction where the Ministry wants to go and to give the children ideas, opportunities and information that they can go and discuss with their parents.

Kuruleca says these children don't have to make a decision today, but at least they are being provided with an avenue through the Higher Education Commission of Fiji and a platform for them to access information.

She says the Higher Education Commission will be running two more Careers Expo, one in the West and one in the North which is targeted to be as early as Term 1 of next year.

Day 2 of the Higher Education Commission Careers Expo 2023 is currently underway at the Vodafone Arena.

There will be panel discussions for the next two days from 6pm to 7pm until the closing of the event on Thursday.
