Drua Women falls short 54-40 to the Reds in SF despite strong second half comeback

A strong comeback in the second half by the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women was not enough as they fell short 54-40 to the Reds in the first Super Rugby W semi final this afternoon.

The Drua were down 42-5 at the break but delivered a strong second half performance to come back and score 5 more converted tries but the Reds managed to score two converted tries that gave them the cushion.

The Reds capitalised on Drua’s mistakes in the first half and scored 6 converted tries.

They held on to their defence in the last quarter of the game to prevent the Drua from stealing an unimaginable win.

The Drua had their chances to score a few tries in both halves but handling errors proved too costly for them.

The Reds will now wait for the second semi final between the Waratahs and the Force this afternoon.
