Fiji’s professional female boxer Sera Bolatini has made history again in Fiji boxing, winning the Women’s WBA Australasian Welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Australia’s Connie Chan last night.

Bolatini stood her ground in defence and landed several powerful blows that unsettled her opponent, however, Chan showed professionalism and determination, as she did not go down without a fight.

The judges Rahul Sami, Aminiasi Finau, and Faiyaz Khan scored 80-72, 77-75, and 79-73 respectively in favour of Bolatini.

Meanwhile in other bouts last night, Australia’s Runqi Zhou defeated Binnu Singh Jnr by a split points decision to claim the Super Bantamweight WBA Oceania Title, Semi Dauloloma claimed the Boxing Commission of Fiji Heavyweight title after knocking out James Singh in the fourth round, Krishna Mudaliar of Australia knocked out Matthew Michael in the first round, New Zealand’s Oliver Firth won the NZPBC Oriental Pacific title after a knockout win over Samuela Nagari in the 5th round, Josefa Takayawa defeated Frederick Chand with a first round knockout, William Korocawiri defeated Lepani Levatia by points decision, and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana defeated Samisoni Gonewai with a unanimous points decision.
