Attar Singh is now the Assistant National Secretary of the Fiji Trades Union Congress.
Singh stood for the National Federation Party in the 2018 general elections but failed to make it to parliament after he got 614 votes.
Singh’s appointment as the Assistant Secretary of the FTUC was made at the Special Delegates Conference and the main purpose of this conference was to amend the constitution to support the unification of the FTUC with former Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions or FICTU.
Singh says it is too early to say whether he will contest the next general elections.
Meanwhile, the President of Fijian Teachers Association, Netani Drauvesi has been appointed as the Vice‑President of FTUC.
Felix Anthony remains the National Secretary of FTUC.
