NFP on its way to becoming a larger party - Prof. Prasad

The National Federation Party is on its way to becoming a much bigger party after the next general election.

NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad highlighted this during the party’s Rewa Branch meeting at Vunimono High School this afternoon.

Professor Prasad says they are part of a three-party coalition, however, that does not mean the NFP has not taken positions on matters of policy and national importance.

He says the previous government was spreading rumours that the new government would remove social welfare assistance and scholarships, but instead, these have been improved.

The NFP Leader says that, as required by the party constitution, they are holding their branch meetings, and he is glad with the turnout of people.

He further says that the NFP will participate in the next election in a determined, organised and extensive manner.

Professor Prasad says they want to strengthen the party as it is the most multiracial party in the country.

He adds that the NFP has a history of working with other political parties and is one of the most trusted parties.

He also confirms that their National Convention will be held in September in Suva.

Meanwhile, more than 150 people attended the NFP's Nausori Branch Meeting at Vunimono High School this afternoon.
