Prominent lawyer Jiten Reddy appointed as Constitutional Offices Commission's member

Prominent lawyer Jiten Reddy has been appointed as a member of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC).

Reddy's appointment took effect on the 14th of May and will be valid for a period of three years.

The Commission holds authority over appointments, terms, and regulation for several key independent offices, including the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission, the Electoral Commission, the Supervisor of Elections, the Secretary-General to Parliament, the Public Service Commission, the Commissioner of Police, the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service, the Commander of the RFMF, the Auditor-General, and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka serves as the Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission.

Reddy's appointment adds to the membership of the commission as it continues its work in overseeing appointments to key constitutional positions.
