Timaima Ravisa

The passion for representing her country on the world stage is something that drove 36-year-old Timaima Ravisa to come back home and re-join the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s side for the 2025 Super W season after spending the last two years in Japan playing in the Japanese Women’s Rugby competition.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Ravisa says it is always an honour to represent her country and for her, she just wants to finish off her rugby career by representing her country again.

Ravisa was part of the Fijian Drua Women’s side that created history in 2022 by winning the Super W title in just their first year in the competition before she moved to Japan.

She also represented the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side in the HSBC SVNS World Series before she made the switch to rugby league in 2019 where she represented the NZ Warriors Women’s side in the NRL Women's Premiership, and also the Fiji Bulikula side in the Pacific Championship where they defeated PNG Women 28-0.

The Savudrodro, Cakaudrove woman switched back to rugby union in 2022 where she joined the Drua Women for their inaugural season.

Ravisa says one piece of advice that she always gives to young players is never to give up, no matter what circumstances they are in, as faith does not make things easy, it makes things possible.

She says it is all about moving forward and pushing hard because everything is possible to be achieved.

The Fijian Drua Women’s first game for the 2025 Super W season will be against the Waratahs on Friday, 28th February in Sydney.
