18 new jobs created after opening of the Grills Restaurant & Bar in Nadi.

18 Fijians now have a job after the opening of Grills Restaurant & Bar at Port Denarau in Nadi last night.

While speaking at the opening, Minister for Commerce and Tourism Faiyaz Koya says brothers Vimal and Divesh Bhagwan have invested $400,000 to establish an impressive space, with future ambition to form Fiji’s first franchise.

He says they have seen a number of businesses opening around the country over the last few weeks, simply indicating investor confidence, as the economy recovers.

Koya further says the new business means a source of employment for young Fijians who want to be part of the vibrant tourism industry and that of the “gastronomy” aspect and experience offered by Port Denarau Marina.

The Minister says the two brothers opened their first restaurant in Laucala Bay, Suva in November, 2020 despite the pandemic.

He adds they are prepared for the tourism market, offering a healthy menu supported by 80 percent of local producers, purchased from Fijian owned companies which makes them a perfect example of a food experience that has a connection to Fijian flavors.
