PNG Kumuls beat Kukis to secure first RLWC win

A brave Cook Islands outfit handed Papua New Guinea an early scare before the Kumuls powered away with a 32-16 victory to secure their first Rugby League World Cup win.

Only two points separated the proud rugby league nations at half-time, but the second stanza was all the Kumuls.

Cook Islands will need to produce a stunning upset over Tonga to keep their tournament alive in their last pool match.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji Bati will take on Scotland at 4am Sunday.
