The Vodafone Fiji Sevens team has won the 2015 Dubai Sevens tournament after beating England 28‑17 in the Cup final this morning.

This is Fiji's second Dubai Sevens title after winning it in 2013.

Fiji scored four converted tries in the first half and put through an impressive defensive effort in the second half to maintain their lead and come through with the victory.

England’s Dan Bibby scored the first try in the match, but this was soon followed by four back to back tries from Savenaca Rawaca, Jasa Veremalua, Isake Katonibau and Jerry Tuwai.

The national sevens team led England 28-5 at halftime.

England scored two tries in the second half, but it was not enough for a win.

However, there may be some injury concerns within the Vodafone Fiji Sevens team as Viliame Mata was carried out with some pain in the second half.

Speaking after the match, Captain Osea Kolinisau said he was happy and grateful to England for being worthy opponents in the final.

He was also pleased to have been the only Fiji Sevens team captain that has been able to win the Dubai Sevens twice.

Jerry Tuwai also won the HSBC player of the final.
