Leonardo DiCaprio called out for 'disrespectful' act in Fiji as he checks out of hotel

Hollywood star actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been called out for ignoring a traditional Fiji reception as he checked out of a hotel in Nadi earlier this week.

In a video posted to TikTok, the 50-year-old was spotted leaving the hotel when staff lined up to perform a cheerful farewell serenade.

DiCaprio, dressed in black clothes and sunglasses, appeared to take a phone call after arriving at the foyer as hotel staff waited to farewell him.

The Titanic star then quickly dipped his head down and rushed past the crowd to an awaiting car.

Many fans criticised him for not acknowledging the people singing to him, with some calling his behaviour 'disrespectful'.

Some even accused DiCaprio of 'pretending to take the phone call'. However, others defended his low-key departure, with one writing: 'Maybe it's his first time in Fiji… Just let him be.'

Meanwhile, DiCaprio’s trip to Fiji came after he celebrated his birthday with quite the A-list guest list, including Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg.
