Police to be out in numbers during New Years celebration
Police officers will be out in numbers going into the New Years celebration tonight.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said officers from all units will help with operations within the next 24 hours in all divisions where major events are planned for tonight.

They will help cover the inner and outer cordons of towns and city areas as well as residential areas.

Naisoro also said people are to refrain from throwing water at passing vehicles as it poses a real safety risk to the driver and passengers as well as other pedestrians.

Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found doing this.
