Illegal doctor remanded in custody
The Nadi Magistrates Court today remanded a 59 year old man of Nalovo, Nadi, in custody who was allegedly operating a medical clinic illegally.

Tahir Hussein Shah, who has been charged with three counts of practicing as a medical practitioner without being registered as a medical practitioner and obtaining money by false pretense, appeared in the Nadi Court today and was ordered to go for a psychiatric evaluation.

No plea was taken as the case has been adjourned till 9th November.
 
A raid was carried out at his residence last week and police confiscated tablets, syringes, injections and other medical equipment.

According to police, complaints were received against the man who allegedly prescribed medication for some people who went to visit him.
