Nadi businessman Anand Kumar also known as Bobby who is alleged to have been involved in the $3 billion Vatia cocaine bust, appeared in the Tavua Magistrates Court this morning and his case has been transferred to the Ba High Court.
He is charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and possession of properties suspected of being proceeds of crime.
It is alleged that Kumar and others on the 1st of November 2025 to 15th January this year, without lawful authority imported 2,644.5 kilograms of cocaine.
He and others between 15th and 16th January, 2026 at Vatia Wharf, Tavua, without lawful authority, were allegedly in possession of 2,644.5 kilograms of Cocaine.
During a raid at Kumar's residence at Malolo, Nadi, Police found FJD$2,300, and AUD$4,550 cash that may reasonably be suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Kumar has been remanded in custody and this matter will be called again on 22nd June.
