Low water levels at Monasavu
The low level of rainfall is taking its toll on the Monasavu dam with the Fiji Electricity Authority being forced to use more diesel generators to meet the electricity needs.

FEA CEO Hasmukh Patel said the dam level at the beginning of the month was 732.57 meters and has now dropped to 730.61 meters as of yesterday.

Patel said the situation is now critical and as a result the FEA has to increase the use of thermal fuel for generation of electricity which is having a huge negative impact on their financial performance.

The FEA is once again urging consumers to conserve energy for the betterment of our nation and our environment.
