The Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services will soon be relocating some prisoners from Suva to Levuka to address the overcrowding issues at the Korovou Prison.
Spokesperson Ema Dimila said the Commissioner of Prisons Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu and other senior officers also decided to move inmates from the West to Suva to address the overcrowding there.
Lieutenant Colonel Vasu also visited Levuka inmates this week and highlighted the need for cooperation between inmates and officers.
