The Wages Council has given the Minister for Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, the proposed wage rate for nine industries which they were mandated to work on.
The nine industries include Saw milling and Logging, Mining and Quarrying, Wholesale and Retail trade, Manufacturing Industry, Road Transport, Printing Trade, Security Services, Hotel and Catering and the Building/Civil and Electrical Engineering trade.
Council Chairman, Father Kevin Barr said they could not decide on the wage rate for the garment industry because they were unable to get the required quorum to meet.
However he said the wages council looking after the garment industry will soon decide on their next meeting.
According to Father Kevin Barr, they are now awaiting the objection period to finish which comes to an end on the 14th of next month.
