Businessman Ben Padarath appeared before Magistrate Thushara Rajasinghe today.
Padarath faces one count of false information to public servant.
In court today, Defense Counsel Rajendra Chaudhry said he will file the grounds this afternoon on whether the caution interview of his client will be used in court.
Padarath is alleged to have given information he knew to be false via text messages to the Director of Immigration in Fiji Nemani Vuniwaqa on the 23rd of January last year.
It is also alleged that Padarath intended to cause Vuniwaqa to include the name of one Paul Freeman on the Fiji Immigration Watchlist, which the Director Immigration ought not to be.
The case will be recalled on the 13th of next month.
