Armed forces put on high alert
Fiji's armed forces which include the Fiji Police Forces and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, have both been put on high alert as the nation waits the arrival of Tropical Cyclone Evan.

As the cyclone continues on its current path towards the country, both organisations have called on both the men and women serving in the forces to be prepared for deployment.

The RFMF's Land Forces Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga has confirmed that the military have been briefed by DISMAC Officials on the expected arrival and strength of Cyclone Evan and is prepared for response.

Tikoitoga said the soldiers are now ready for deployment in all parts of the country to help in rehabilitation and search and rescue operations.

He reiterated the Prime Minister's message for all Fijians to refrain from unnecessary travel and activities.
