US Congressman supports constitutional consultation process
US Congressman Eni Faleomavaega has expressed his support for the constitutional consultations process as well as the government’s commitment to empower the voices of all Fijians to facilitate truly democratic elections.

The Congressman was in Fiji this week to meet with the new US Ambassador to Fiji Frankie Reed and paid a courtesy call to Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday.

Congressman Faleomavaega and the Attorney General also discussed the growing importance of the Asia Pacific region to the global economy inclusive of US business interests in Fiji.

Among some of the most prominent American business interests in Fiji are mahogany, sugar and Fiji’s first ever casino.

The ground breaking ceremony for the casino is scheduled for the end of this month.
