Nationwide aptitude tests to start soon
The National Employment Centre will be entering into a Memorandum of Understanding tomorrow with the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji to undertake massive nationwide aptitude tests.

Director National Employment Centre Viliame Baledrokadroka said the MOU will see TPAF handling the aptitude tests for the over 5,800 people currently registered with the centre.

He added that this is the second phase that they will kick start in Labasa and Savusavu as they are keeping to a timetable of one week to test the 900 registered people in the two towns.

Meanwhile, Baledrokadroka revealed that after the North, they will be focusing on the Central/Eastern Division as these areas recorded the highest number of unemployed people.

Once the aptitude tests are completed, then the life skills training will commence for 8 weeks before the 6 months attachment.

The National Employment Centre is being set up as a one stop shop for unemployed people where they are to undergo training before their work attachments.

The MOU is expected to be signed tomorrow at 11am in Suva.
